For many of us breathing sits as an unconscious action, often taken for granted until we have to hold it or have it cut off in an emergency event. For some, breathing is harnessed as a source of athletic power, or a tool to find focus or relaxation. For others still, breathing is a chore, a labor, a source of apprehension.
Compared to all previous times there is a shocking lack of physical demands in what characterizes our daily lives. Intensive, myopic, fine motor, visual and cerebral demands with a lack of prolonged or varying physical challenges make up our modern days.
